Our female singers fever goes on – and thank god there’s always a good discovery to make. This time was Saint Clair (aka Emma Topolski). She started as a gigging jazz singer, although no one else in her family worked with music.
It didn’t take long before doing BVs for her long-time pal – that you might know – Laura Marling, besides Ghostpoet and Dua Lipa. Emma is also bassist and singer for London 4-piece CHILDCARE.
She recently released her second EP, “D2”, and yesterday we had the chance to see the live video for recent single “I’ll Stay”, particularly my fav among the five songs. Her sister, Tamsin Topolski, directed the whole thing.
“We wanted to expose and highlight the raw emotion at the core of this live version of the song”, she explained. “We wanted the music and the visual movements to build cohesively to a climax, moving out of darkness into hope and finally relief”.
